GIFT is committed to supporting the lifelong learning of digestive cancer specialists and will develop resources to enhance the professional development of members across the continuum of their medical education. This will be achieved through:

• Enhancing training at various levels (medical college, residency and super specialization)
• Providing educational resources
• Providing guidelines for curriculum & training
• Resources to physicians to develop research skills by:
1. Conducting workshops
2. Providing web-based resources
3. Providing mentorship programs to new and upcoming physician researchers
4. Publishing educational books
• Holding annual scientific meetings
• Providing access to latest journals and abstracts
• Web-based seminars and workshops as part of continuing medical education

Research Initiatives

Digestive cancer research is at the core of the GIFT mission. Each year, GIFT will hold meetings to attract abstracts representing the latest in clinical and translational research in the areas of cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. This research will help to set the standard for cancer care in India.
